A number of versions of the Sport Sedan has no switch to operate the trunk lock, the switch can be fitted afterwards.

Connecting the trunk switch can be done in two ways. You can create connections by using cables and plugs that are added to the existing wiring. A plug for the trunk switch of the central door locking can be ordered via Ebay. Search for Saab part 12789434. But it could also be without. The do-it-yourself method is described below.

The other possibility is to get hold of the original wiring harness on a scrap yard from a drivers door where this switch was present. This wiring harness sits at the Centre Panel and there are different versions, they are all usable. Left or right hand drive doesn't matter. At least the plug for the trunk switch (gray) should be on one of the cables in order to link to H8-3. The black connector for the switch of the central door locking will be there always. There are also versions where the plugs (black) to the courtesy lighting are included. You can possibly use it, remove or leave unused.

NOTE the wiring harness from a sedan/estate is shorter than the one of the cabrio. By leading the cables in a different way it is also usable in the cabrio.
Disassemble the panel of the door on the driver's side and disconnect all  plugs and the cable of the door handle.

Locate the notch where the switch must be placed. It is just richt above plug H8-3. Use a sharp stanley knife to cut the lining until the button fits perfectly.
The contacts of the switch should be connected to plug H8-3 in the door.
You need three connectors like the richt connector in the image. From the left connector in the image you need up to three connectors. This depends on the number of unused positions in the plug H8-3. (E.g. if your car is equipped with courtesy lighting, you need only two connectors). Connectors are available at a good carshop or at an Opel/Vauxhall dealer. (tip, take the plug and the switch to the shop for the right size)
Plug H8-3 is located approximately in the middle of the door panel.

Have a look which positions are occupied in the plug. Take three leads of approximately 60 to 75 cm, diam minimum 0,5 mm2. Attach the right connector to one side of the leads. These connectors will be attached to the switch. Make sure that you isolate these connectors i.o.t to prevent contact between the connectors.Look if the positions 2, 5 and 6 of the plug H8-3 are occupied (numbers are on the plug). Mount at the other side of the leads the correct number of required connectors (left connector in the image).
AansluConnection diagram:
At the right, you see which positions should be connected to each other. Attach the connectors in the switch. Assemble the pins in the plug on the correct position. If one of the positions have been filled then you will need to strip the lead at that positionuse solder to make necessary connect.Attach the wires in the cableholders and fix them with tape to the door panel.
switch 1   ----->  connector 2
switch 2   ------> connector 5
switch 3   ------> connector 6
Before connecting the plugs of the door panel check whether you have connected the correct positions with each other. Then mount all the connectors and the cable of the door opener and attach the door panel.

Good luck with the new switch.
